Introduction To Prelimenary Task And Action Plan For Prelimenary Task

For my preliminary task I need to create the front page of a new school/college magazine using DTP and an image manipulation programme. The front page needs to include a medium close-up photograph of a student. It also needs to include a masthead and appropriately laid-out text. I also need to produce a mock-up of the layout of my contents page in the magazine, to show that I have understood how to use DTP.

Content: Introduction to brief
              Analysis of magazines and how they target audiences

Tasks to be completed: Set up blog
                                     Put action plan on blog
                                     Complete textual analysis of one magazine and post on blog

Week Two: 28th Nov
Content: Analysis of school/college magazines
               Research of target audience

Tasks to be completed: Complete textual analysis of school/college magazines and post on blog
                                     Post research of target audience on blog and review findings
                                     Begin to take photos for own magazine

Week Three: 5th Dec
Content: Produce a mock-up of front cover and contents page
              Begin to design front cover and contents page

Tasks to be completed: Post mock-up blog and provide commentary

Week Four: 12th Dec
